France has set the target of 40% of renewable energies in its electricity mix by 2030.<\/p>\n<p>The first company to produce exclusively 100% renewable electricity in France, CNR relies on its historic foundations \u2014 <strong>hydroelectricity<\/strong> \u2014 and henceforth develops additional expertise in <strong>wind power, solar power, renewable hydrogen and storage<\/strong>, supported by its subsidiaries <a style=\"font-style: inherit; font-variant-ligatures: inherit; font-variant-caps: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.solarhona.fr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Solarhona<\/a><span style=\"font-family: Poppins, sans-serif; font-size: 18px;\"> et <\/span><a style=\"font-style: inherit; font-variant-ligatures: inherit; class=\"a-title-3\"><span style=\"color: #239bd7;\">45 hydropower plants on the Rhone<\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"as--highlight\">Hydroelectricity: historic expertise and potential for the future<\/p>\n<p><strong>The leading source of renewable energy<\/strong>, the second source of energy production behind nuclear power, hydroelectricity is both storable and controllable, and it is a major asset for the French energy mix.<\/p>\n\n            <\/div>\n        <\/div>\n        <div class=\"inner-wrap \">\n        <div class=\"as--column as--columns-2\" reveal>\n                            <div class=\"as--column__item editor-wysiwyg h-align-left\">\n                                                                                                        <p>Between 1938 and 1986, CNR built 20 large hydropower plants on the Rhone, to which must be added many small and medium-sized installations.<\/p>\n<p>The company now produces <strong>25%of all French hydroelectricity<\/strong> thanks to its 46 hydropower plants, i.e. a total of 3,106 MW.<\/p>\n<p>CNR optimises these performances through the precise control of discharges, structures and floating and agrivoltaics, CNR has solid technical expertise for<strong> installing solar panels on existing buildings and those under construction, lakes and water bodies, and anthropized sites<\/strong>, thanks to its two subsidiaries: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarhona.fr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Solarhona<\/a> for small ground-based plants, roofs and canopies (up to 5 MW) and <a href=\"https:\/\/vensolair.fr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Vensolair<\/a> for large photovoltaics (from 5 MW upwards).
